USG Corporation Logistics Manager (3rd Party Warehouse Operations) in Chicago, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for oversight of the planner team supporting over 80 retail consignment and 3rdparty warehouse sites that generate nearly $300MM is sales annually in US and Canada.

The planner team is made up of a full time associates, 3rdservice providers and contract employees. The primary responsibility is to lead, manage and develop the team specifically responsible for planning finished goods inventory replenishment, coordinating interplant transfer purchase orders and planning data maintenance for multiple locations. The role is responsible for ensuring sufficient capacity and capability of 3rdparty teams in meeting the needs of the location they support.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Manage a team responsible for planning finished goods inventory replenishment, coordinating interplant transfer purchase orders and planning data maintenance for multiple locations. * Coordinates resources to complete warehouse processes audits, physical counts, reconciliations. * Ensures adherence to standard processes through the use of monitoring and control systems. * Primary contact for escalation of issues for the planning team.

· Drive process innovation and operational excellence throughout the network of warehouses.

* Promote a culture of performance management and ensure delivery of agreed to performance goals.

· Collaborate with key stakeholders in supply chain, the business unit, customer service and sales teams to satisfy business requirements and meet customer satisfaction goals.

* Leverages the Corporate Excellence Team to identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement. * Partner with Strategic Sourcing to evaluate, select and appoint third party vendors to provide contact services.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills

· Functional knowledge about supply chain planning, ERP & MRP tools and processes related to Supply Chain Planning.

· Demand planning and supply planning experience

· Basic understanding of Inventory Management and associated planning processes

· Experience in project management, leading small teams with cross functional project team members

· Demonstrated experience and ability to manage cross-functional relationships at multiple levels of the organization

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Ability to lead change

· Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)

· Ability to deliver presentation to small audiences

Preferred Skills

· APICS CPIM, CSCMP

· Project Management Professional certification

· LSS Green/Black belt/Green Belt
