USG Corporation Training Manager in Chicago, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY The Training Manager will implement our development strategy and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure synergy and alignment. The incumbent will use their experience and knowledge to assist in development and delivery of meaningful training and development content to our team located throughout the US and Canada.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES" •Working closely with our human resource business partners, deliver training programs to the hourly and salaried workforces. Communicate effectively, ensuring that learning objectives are easy for participants to grasp and apply. Create a productive learning environment, allowing for exploration and discussion of content. Programs include Directions Training reinforcement, frontline supervision, and onboarding new professional/managers •Tie learning experiences to the corporation and business goals. Ensure that programs are aligned with the curriculum and provide feedback when adjustments should be made to content or delivery •Prioritize training delivery based on data and facts, ensuring that program effectiveness is measured constantly •Work closely with managers, subject matter experts, and the instructional designer to analyze business needs, design and produce learning experiences, and define performance objectives •Provide training using a range of learning experiences, including: Instructor-led training (ILT) design, interactive e-learning modules, videos, job aides, facilitator guides and resource materials •Manager relationships and programs with external training partners, ensuring that training objectives are achieved •Ensure and drive standardization across all projects, content, and our learning management system •Build strong relationships with stakeholders to conduct needs analyses, set and manage expectations, create project plans, and regularly communicate training program updates

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: •Proficient understanding of USG’s product portfolio, customers, and operations •Strong passion and interest in helping others develop and grow •Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to others in a clear, focused, and concise manner •Strong listening skills •Ability to multi‐task, manage time and multiple projects simultaneously •Tech‐savvy, able to learn new technologies quickly and effectively •Self-driven, with the ability to collaborate and seek feedback while staying on goal •Ability to work independently when appropriate •Excellent organization skills •Strong relationship management skills

Physical Demands and Other Requirements: •Ability to travel up to 50% to deliver training content, conduct needs assessments, or other activities •This position does not need to reside in Chicago.

Education and Related Experience: •Bachelor’s degree in a business or human resources field •Five or more years of experience within USG's operations, preferably in a role where training and development was a responsibility
