USG Oakfield Plant The USG Oakfield Plant is located in Western New York, approximately 45 minutes East of Buffalo. The plant is one of the original USG sites, and is rich in community history. The plant produces paper for the manufacture of wallboard which involves a highly complex and sophisticated process. Position Description: The Technician role directs activities associated with the design, specification, installation, start-up, programming, and troubleshooting of all plant process control equipment including the Metso / Valmet DCS system. Perform all pneumatic/electronic instrumentation maintenance work including installation, repair, calibration, and troubleshooting without direct supervision. Provide documentation and lead implementation of equipment startups and ongoing technical support of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming in an industrial automation environment This position is typically 40 hrs/week M-F, with occasional mandatory overtime, and after-hours support.

• Must have a basic understanding of electricity and capable of being trained up to 600 volts • Must be capable of using a voltage meter, ohm meter, and other testing devices • Must maintain continuous learning of technical developments in the paper industry to recommend process improvement opportunities • Demonstrated knowledge with the engineering, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems • Skills to troubleshoot equipment issues as related to the controls/programming aspects of the equipment • Demonstrated working knowledge of control systems components, ladder logic programming, HMI programming and their applications • Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls design as well as PLC/HMI preferred experience (Allen-Bradley RSLogix (500 & 5000), Workshop, TI-Soft, Siemens S7, and WonderWare) • Responsible for the selection, recommendation, installation, and training of new process control technologies; and the investigation of new developments in the field for possible implementation • Understanding of digital drive systems, PLC, and Process Controllers, sensors, actuators, power supplies, and wiring devices • Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company values, code of conduct, policies and other standards • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe work environment, conduct self in a professional manner consistent with company values, codes of conduct, policies and other standards at all times. • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and AutoCAD • Candidate needs to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, anddecision-making skills, with the ability to work in a diverse workforce environment • Participate in all plant programs and initiatives as assigned • Capable of performing all Technician 2 duties or any duty as assigned by supervisor • Must work closely with the Plant Electrical, Reliability and Production Departmentsto provide continuous improvement and project support.
